While boxes and newspaper had a recycling rate of above 78%, nondurable goods made of paper like packaging had a recycling rate of only 15.3%. Globally, we generate over 440 million tons of paper every year.

Approximately 35,000,000 tons of plastics are generated every year in the US and only 9% of them are being recycled. Globally, we are producing over 350 million tons of plastic every year.
